Gundam Assemble: Bandai's New Miniatures Game Lands This Fall
For years, Gunpla builders have finished a kit, set it on a shelf, and wished there was more to do with it. Gundam Assemble is Bandai's answer. It is a brand new competitive miniatures game that takes the mobile suits you love, shrinks them to roughly 5 cm, and sends them into fast, tactical tabletop battles. Launching in October 2026, it is one of the most exciting tabletop debuts of the year.
Here is the pitch. You assemble and paint small-scale Gunpla-style miniatures, then command them in squad-based combat across a board full of terrain. Games start at a minimum of 3 units per side and scale up from there, and the rules are built for short, decisive matches rather than all-day affairs. Every unit has its own stats and abilities drawn from its role in the Mobile Suit Gundam series, so a Barbatos plays nothing like a Zaku.
What makes this launch special is how many hobbies it satisfies at once. If you love building and painting, these are proper multi-part kits with Bandai's famous engineering behind them, so the assembly is a joy on its own. If you love strategy, the squad and terrain systems reward smart positioning and planning. And if you are already deep in Gundam through the card game, the miniatures even double as 3D tokens for the Gundam Card Game, so the two hobbies feed each other.

There is also a real cost advantage worth naming. Compared to many established miniatures games, Gundam Assemble is a gentle place to start. The Starter Set gives two players everything needed to begin, while the Deluxe Set steps up to larger, story-driven scenarios with a bigger roster of unpainted miniatures for players who want the full experience out of the gate. Bandai plans a steady stream of expansions after launch, so the game will keep growing.

With 20 years of painting behind our counter, this is exactly the kind of release we love, and we are planning organized play so you have opponents from day one. Come build a squad, get some paint on it, and put those mobile suits to work.
