September Painting Competition – 3 Model Squads

Wandering Adventures returns with our third Painting Competition—this time, it's all about your favourite three models from a squad. Whether it's a 3-, 5-, or 10-man unit, choose any three models (40mm bases or smaller) that stand out to you.

This round, we’re spotlighting the rank-and-file heroes—the dependable fighters who hold the line, push the advance, and carry the fight without the fame.

Entry Guidelines:
– Submit three models from a single squad (can be from a 3-, 5-, or 10-man unit)
– Models must be on 40mm bases or smaller
– Can be from Warhammer 40K or Age of Sigmar
– No named characters (Epic Heroes)
– No monsters or vehicles — standard infantry models only
– All models must be painted by you (no commissioned work)
– One entry per person
– No entry fee

Judging Criteria:

Models will be evaluated on the following five categories:

1. Clean Painting – consistency, edge control, and overall execution

2. Highlighting/Shading – use of contrast, transitions, and volume

3. Color Choice & Contrast – palette selection, readability, and balance

4. Basing / Presentation – how the base supports the miniature

5. Overall Impact – the miniature’s presence as a complete piece

The winner will receive an XL Paint Handle from Games Workshop.
