The Coolest Necron Characters

With the Necrons looking to take over 10th Edition Warhammer 40k, Games Workshop is going to release some resculpts of some of their popular characters. Let's take a quick dive into some of the more popular Necron Overlords:

Imotekh the Stormlord: Imotekh is one of the most famous Necron Overlords. He is a master strategist and a formidable opponent on the battlefield. Imotekh is known for his ability to manipulate the forces of nature and control the weather, earning him the title "Stormlord.

Imotekh has been depicted as having an alliance with the Flayed Ones, a particularly gruesome and feral sect of Necrons. This alliance adds an element of unpredictability to Imotekh's forces, as the Flayed Ones are known for their savage and unpredictable behavior.

Imotekh is often portrayed as a cold and calculating leader who values efficiency and results. He is not swayed by sentimentality and views the subjugation of the galaxy as the rightful destiny of the Necron race. Despite his mechanical nature, Imotekh is a charismatic and imposing figure, inspiring loyalty and fear in equal measure among his subordinates.

Szarekh, the Silent King: Szarekh is the ancient and powerful ruler of the Necron race. He is a central figure in Necron lore, having led his people into the pact with the C'tan (star gods) that ultimately led to the transformation of the Necron race into undying, mechanical beings. The Silent King has awakened in recent lore and is seeking to reunify the fractured Necron dynasties for a greater purpose.

The Silent King played a crucial role in the biotransference process, which converted the Necrontyr into Necrons. This process was a desperate attempt to escape the ravages of the radiation and attain a form of immortality. However, the cost was high, as the Necrontyr lost much of their individuality and humanity in the process.

Nemesor Zahndrekh: Zahndrekh is a Necron Lord known for his adherence to a code of honor and chivalry, which is unusual for the typically cold and calculating Necrons. His loyal bodyguard, Vargard Obyron, often accompanies him. Zahndrekh believes that he is still living in the glorious days of the Necrontyr, before their transformation into the undying Necrons, and he often perceives other races and events through this distorted lens.

He often misinterprets the nature of other races and the state of the galaxy, viewing them through the lens of a bygone era. This delusional perception adds a unique and sometimes humorous element to Zahndrekh's character.

Zahndrekh's unique personality has led to complex interactions with other races, including occasional alliances with Imperium forces. These interactions are often based on Zahndrekh's distorted perceptions and beliefs rather than a true understanding of the current state of the galaxy.

Anrakyr the Traveler:  Anrakyr is known as "the Traveler" because he roams from world to world, seeking out dormant Necron forces and reasserting control over them. He is a relentless and determined conqueror, working to reunify the fragmented Necron dynasties scattered across the galaxy.

Anrakyr is critical of Szarekh, the Silent King, and his self-imposed exile. He sees the Silent King's absence as a failure to lead the Necrons effectively. Anrakyr takes it upon himself to carry out the task of uniting the Necron dynasties and restoring their former glory.

Anrakyr is known for his independence and refusal to bow to the will of the C'tan, the ancient star gods with whom the Necrons made a pact. He is not subservient to these cosmic entities and instead focuses on the interests and goals of the Necron race.

Trazyn the Infinite: Trazyn is a Necron Overlord with a particular fascination for collecting and preserving rare and unique artifacts and living beings. He has an extensive collection within his Tesseract Labyrinth, a dimensionally transcendental space where he stores his acquisitions. Trazyn is an enigmatic character who often acts according to his own motives.

Trazyn has been known to create "living museums" within his Tesseract Labyrinth, preserving moments in time and entire scenes with living subjects frozen in stasis. These displays are a testament to the Necron technology's ability to manipulate time and space.

Trazyn is characterized by his eccentricity, intelligence, and a certain degree of whimsy. Despite his mechanical nature, he exhibits traits that set him apart from the typically stoic and emotionless Necrons. His fascination with collecting and the pursuit of unique experiences make him a distinct and memorable character.
